Business Brokers Network's corporate staff of seventeen (16) includes:
- Professional Business Brokers active in the business brokerage industry,
- Administrative and secretarial personnel and
- Designated active and experienced Affiliate Members that provide consulting support services.
The following is a brief biography of key staff members.
Zack Tannery graduated from Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Mr. Tannery started his career as a CPA in Public Accounting with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young). He then joined Haggar Apparel Company in Dallas, Texas, where he advanced to Vice President and Financial Controller during his eleven year tenure.
He formed Tannery & Company, a firm of Certified Public Accountants, in 1976 and merged this business in 1989 with Pannell Kerr Forester (a worldwide firm of certified public accountants). He was a consulting partner in the Dallas office of Pannell Kerr Forester after the businesses merged.
He brokered his first business in 1977 and has since been active in selling and buying businesses. He has sold numerous businesses of various sizes with transaction values up to $25 million.
In 1999, Zack became an Affiliate Member of Business Brokers Network and he is a Certified Business Broker. In 2006 he was named Vice President of Affiliate Services and in 2009 was named Director of Affiliate Training. His primary responsibilities include:
- Providing technical and consulting services to Affiliate Members,
- Oversight and program content for for Affiliate Member Training, and
- Helping develop professional and effective Affiliate Member Business Brokers.
In September 2009, Zack assumed the additional title of President of Business Brokers Network. His duties include Director of Affiliate Training and he continues to provide technical and consulting services to Affiliate Member Business Brokers and helps develop strong and effective Member Brokers nationwide.
Roger Tannery has over 30 years experience facilitating mergers, acquisitions, sales and other business transfers for both private and public companies in various industries. He has conducted business valuations for both private and public companies with transaction values up to $80 million.
He has held various executive level positions as CEO, COO and CFO as well as consulting roles in public and private companies in various industries. He has also been responsible for all levels of business financing and financial reporting including SEC compliance.
As a graduate from the University of North Texas with a BBA in accounting, Roger began his career as a CPA in public accounting with a National CPA firm (Deloite & Touche, formerly Haskins & Sells) and later became a founding partner in a regional CPA firm.
Having participated in numerous business sales and valuations with BBN Affiliates starting in early 2000, Roger fully comprehends the BBN process and is a Certified Business Broker (CBB). His duties include Director of Affiliate Services including technical support to Affiliate Member Business Brokers and helps develop strong and effective Affiliate Member Brokers nationwide.
Kenneth S. Beard graduated from The University of Houston with a B.A. in Business Administration. After graduation, Mr. Beard began his career in retail with Federated Department Stores and quickly moved into executive positions in Merchandising, Product Development, Store Operations and Management.
In the early 1980's, Ken transitioned his career into the branded wholesale business. Throughout his career in sales and marketing organizations, Ken has provided dramatic revenue growth, secured dominant market positions and developed successful sales teams through effective sales leadership and strategic brand management. Repeatedly recognized for his contributions, Ken has held numerous senior positions in sales management and marketing.
Prior to joining Business Brokers Network, Ken served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the VF Corporation. He was directly responsible for the growth and development of the Nike Kids Brand. Developing a national team of sales executives, he worked closely with and directed the marketing team to develop advance marketing materials and give-away programs that introduced upcoming marketing strategies. He received performance awards including the VF Retail Marketing Award for Innovation in Marketing and Retail Floor Space Management.
Ken was directly involved with establishing corporate direction and implementing policies and procedures to attain future growth objectives for the VF Corporation while serving as a member of the Senior Management Team. He was involved with Mergers and Acquisitions along with licensing of the VF Brands.
Currently, Ken's responsibilities include building brand equity, establishing strategic alliances with preferred vendors, providing market innovation for future growth and providing consulting services to Affiliate Member Business Brokers while helping develop strong and effective member brokers nationwide.
